Old Ways, New Ways: Wildlife Management in Northern Australia
Proceedings of the 12th Annual Conference of the Australasian Wildlife Management Society
Julian Gorman, Lisa Petherham and Tom Vigilante (eds)
These papers were delivered at the 12th Annual Conference of the Australasian Wildlife Management Society in 1999. The collection of articles provides an informative and crucial insight into Australian wildlife management in northern Australia at that time.
The changes that have occurred in wildlife management since the conference partly reflect the highly dynamic and ever-changing social, political and economic climate in northern Australia. It is hoped these proceedings will encourage renewed enthusiasm for research on management of the unique wildlife, ecosystems and landscapes of northern Australia. The intention is also to promote reflection on our earlier footprints and findings, and to guide discussion on ideas for future research and management.
