Northern Encounters

Northern Encounters:
New Directions in North Australian History

David Carment (ed)

In this wide-ranging book scholars from the Australian National University and Charles Darwin University present new approaches to the north Australian past. Authors range from postgraduate students to senior academics. Most chapters deal with the Northern Territory, but north Queensland also receives some attention. There is a diversity of themes. Northern Encounters deals with questions concerning the past that many Australians in the early twenty-first century think are worthy of answers.

At the time of publication, the book's editor, David Carment, was Professor of History at Charles Darwin University.
